What a beautiful young lady! This is Princess, the trucker boxer, and she is owned by Winky and Boy Taylor of Apple Valley, Minnesota.

Winky tells us that she regularly looks at the classifieds in the Minneapolis paper on Saturday morning to check out what there is to see under "Boxers." One Saturday morning in May she looked and there was an ad for a FREE female boxer, one year old, to a good home only. Winky said she just about cried. She doesn't like the FREE dog ads one bit, as most of us don't. It was only 7 in the morning, but she called anyway, and the rest is history. Princess came to their house. She was born May 11, 1998, and adopted by a family who had never had a boxer before.

Winky's intention was to rescue Princess and work with their rescue group to find her a good home. Well, Bob had different ideas! He is a truck driver and drives nights, including being out of town almost every weekend. So, Princess is now Bob's trucker dog! And she loves it! She is home with her brothers during most days, but is working with Bob during the night and on the weekends. Wow....how fantastic for Bob and Princess!

Awww, here's a cute picture. This is Princess in the bunk of Bob's truck. What a smile that is!

Winky tells us that Princess now has a new nickname......Houdini! Bob was at a truck stop one night and another driver stopped him and said his boxer was loose. Princes had figured out how to open the truck doors, to Bob's dismay. So, with the help of Winky's White Boxer Mailing List Friends, the problem was solved by buying her a harness seat belt, which is working wonderfully. Princess also has a ton of toys that Bob alternates, so she isn't bored. Her favorite toys are her tug rope and a stuffed hedgehog that she has killed many times over, and Bob keeps on sewing it up for her......:o)

Princess is 52 pounds of energy. Continual energy. She is extremely intelligent and has to be challenged at all times. She's the absolute love of all the truckers she is in contact with and loves all the attention. Yet, with all that energy, she's a cuddler. She and Bob are so close and so bonded, it's wonderful seeing the glow of pride on Bob's face says Winky, when he talks about her, or looks at her. The doting father! Winky says that they all love her like crazy and are so glad she didn't have to go live somewhere else. Another rescue dog adopted into the Taylor household.

Well Winky and Bob, we think this is the most marvelous story! We're glad that you found Princess too. She really is a special little doll, and we are so pleased to welcome her to the Boxer Brigade. Thank you so much for sharing her with all of us!! 7/15/99.
